Hispanic-owned small businesses have grown 34% and contributed $500B to the U.S. economy over the last 10 years -- and show no signs of slowing down. Even with the growth and accelerating impact, Hispanic business owners face very real challenges.

Hispanic-owned businesses remain smaller than white-owned firms, earning only $1.2M in revenue compared to $2.3M brought in by white-owned businesses.

Among the universe of Hispanic business-owners, only 16% convert their businesses from a self-employed business to an employer-based business. Non-Hispanics, however, have a conversion rate of 36%.

Among those that attempted to receive growth funding from a financial institution, 6.2% of Latino employer firms did not receive the requested funds, compared to 3.1% for non-minority-owned firms.
